Summary:
This position is responsible for designing and initiating complex layouts for projects. This includes developing scope of work and writing specifications for proposals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Responsibilities include:
providing effective project management from inception through construction and installation; organize the design resources, supervise design, specification and procurement and coordinate the company's objectives regarding capacity, operability, economics and timelines. Other duties include:
involvement in the selection of approved contractors, deciding which systems are best suited for a specific applications and how they are to be installed. Additional duties and responsibilities include:
working with Safety Coordinators, becoming familiar with Tyson and OSHA regulations; providing conceptual design engineering for new projects including process flow diagrams, mass balance, and estimates; maintain current project knowledge of project cost and assume responsibility for project cost management; consult with accounting personnel relative to project accounting procedures and project costs. REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
B.S. in Engineering or equivalent engineering experience and/or registration (by examination) as a Professional Engineer.
Experience:
5 years applicable experience in the food industry, or entry level experience with accredited engineering degree; knowledge of and experience with the business processes related to poultry manufacturing preferred. Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer Skills:
Knowledge and use of computer programs, spreadsheet, database and scheduling programs. Microsoft exposure preferred. Special Skills:
Capable of working on multi-faceted projects of any magnitude while requiring limited supervision; Has demonstrated repeated ability to complete complex projects on time and on budget; good knowledge of a variety of the Mechanical Engineering disciplines concepts, practices, and procedures. Supervisory:
This position is responsible for oversight of various departmental personnel as required, external consultants, and leading intra-company cross functional teams. Travel:
12-25 trips a year.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Mechanical Engineering, Process Management, Electrical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
